“Decolonize Yr Mind” is a song that explores the idea of what the world would’ve been like if imperialism and colonization never destroyed the lives of millions of black people. Despite living in a country that has severely oppressed us, we still manage to create so much beauty in this world. So the question now is, imagine if we didn’t have systems constantly suppressing us, and imagine how we would be influencing this world? We can create that world, but to start to build that world, we must first learn to unlearn these toxic systems and begin to imagine the world we want to see.
