7 Visual Artists of Color you should look out for in 2019

2018 has been an awesome year for artists of color and we are honored that we have had a chance to work with and feature a few artists on this list! 2019 is sure to be another great year for art and these are some artists you should definitely follow for amazing art and dope content in your feed!

7. Ron Smith

Ron Smith is an amazing painter based out of Atlanta, and if you’ve been lucky(or to a PUNK BLACK show) you’ve had the chance to see him paint live. If you haven’t seen his work and you’re in ATL his work is definitely worth the trip! We’ve been working with him for years and he’s not only an amazing artist, he genuinely cares about the scene and the people who work to keep it going. We cant wait to see what he puts on in 2019! 6. Shanisia Person

Shanisia Person is a Painter, Illustrator and DJ, and we bet they’ll melt your face in all three. They use their artistry to create a myriad of works and products including magnets, buttons, stickers, plushies and more! We’ve been lucky enough to see their work on all of these levels and we can’t wait to see what they put out in 2019. 5. Ruby Stone

We’ve known Ruby Stone for quite some time now and we are so excited to have her now working at PUNK BLACK doing comics for our zine! Her style is memorable on sight and combines real world experiences with an anime light hearted-ness that you were looking for even if you didn’t know it. We’re super excited to see her work in 2019! 4. South Side Frank

South Side Frank is a crazy dope artist we found through this years POCtober, and we are so thankful that we were tagged by the page! South Side Frank’s artistry shows how they were influenced by POC in the rock scene and we are totally here for it! With style that makes you think “holy shit that’s dope as fuck and totally punk”, we can’t wait to see what they put out in 2019! Follow them at @Southsidefrank_0.2

3. Ebonizefactor

If you’ve seen Ebonizefactor’s work online you already know it’s hard to not fall in love at first sight. They combine the universes and series of many dope characters to give you amazing work! If you haven’t checked out their work online you are truly missing out. Make sure to look for them in 2019! Follow them at @ebonizefactor on Instagram.

2. Raeghan the Savage

We were connected to the bad-assness of Raeghan the Savage through the artwork they contributed to Poctober on Instagram during October. They did amazing impressions of local and popular POC featuring bands, and we’ve been keeping up with their work ever since. Their style is crazy unique and combines dope shading, groovy patterns and kick ass skill that not only shows their talent, but their commitment to showcasing POC in the Rock community!  Look for their work in 2019 on instagram at @savageraygun 

1. Marcus the Visual 


Marcus The Visual is an insanely creative artist that combines his many talents to bring you clean and dope graphic artwork filled with fun and new beginnings for the characters he draws. We fell in love with him during his Swaptober series and haven’t look back since. 2019 is going to be a great year for artists, and we can’t wait to see what he creates in the new year.
